Multi-Use Structures
Services Provided: Design Code Consulting
Project Description: Upon completion of a major expansion, the Sharonville Convention Center will increase its function space from 28,000 sf to 65,000 sf, including 20,000 sf of exhibition space. Preview worked with the project architects to evaluate various design elements to provide a code compliant solution for the expansion plans. Integration of the addition with the existing building upgrades allowed for more operations to seamlessly integrate the two areas of the building.

Project Description: EpiCentre is an updated interpretation of the new urban center. A complex multi-use development, it houses residential spaces, a hotel, offices and broad entertainment and retail opportunities requiring multiple services, developers and owners. Preview was part of the team that developed the strategy for an appeal to the state to allow integration of a broad mix of developer interests in the project. The overlap of life-safety systems, and their maintenance and operations were fundamental to the appeal issues.

Project Description: Originally built in 1919 for the Lyric Piano Co., a subsidiary of Ralph Wurlitzer Co., the building had been largely abandoned for more than a decade. Recently renovated for a live/work mixed-use residential, business and retail facility, the building now houses the owner’s residence and an architectural firm. The four-story building with its Italianate facade in white terra cotta is a small gem on a prime urban street filled with other historic structures. Preview filed appeals that were required to approve the use of higher efficiency windows in combination with egress involving an existing fire escape.
